Which IB boards do schools in Kuwait use?
IB Diploma Programme (DP)
Offered by 3 schools in Kuwait according to ibo.org. Students take six subjects, usually three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS. With only three DP schools in the country, the pool of local IB specialists is likely to be small.
IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Offered by 2 schools in Kuwait according to ibo.org. Students moving from the MYP into the DP, or joining the DP from a British or American school, often need help adjusting to criteria-based assessment.
When are IB exams for students in Kuwait?

Where do students in Kuwait sit IB exams?
Kuwait has only three DP schools, and every Diploma candidate goes through a school like these: its DP coordinator enters each student for each session, and nobody can enter independently.
A retake needs a school willing to enter the candidate, and the IB says schools are under no obligation to do so. If your child has already left school, ask early.

How many IB schools are there in Kuwait?
According to the IB's country page for Kuwait, checked on 1 November 2026, five IB World Schools in Kuwait offer one or more IB programmes. The Primary Years Programme is offered by four of them, the Diploma Programme by three and the Middle Years Programme by two.
School numbers change as new schools are authorised, so use the IB's own directory to confirm a school before you enrol.
Can you help with IB internal assessments in Kuwait?
Yes. Tutors help students understand the criteria, choose a workable research question and improve their own drafts. Under the IB's academic integrity rules the work must be the student's own, so we guide and give feedback but never write any part of an IA or Extended Essay.

Kuwait has had an IB World School since 1993. Each school sets its own IA dates and mocks, so we build a student's plan around that school's calendar.
Classes run in Arabia Standard Time (UTC+3), usually after school and on Fridays and Saturdays. Lessons can continue if the family travels during Kuwait's long summer.
We teach online only, never in homes, and parents can join any lesson.

Not for the IB Diploma, which needs enrolment at an authorised IB World School, and only three in Kuwait offer it. A student without a place can consider Cambridge or Edexcel A Levels instead, because the British Council in Kuwait registers private candidates for those exams.
