Which Matric boards do schools in Qatar use?

  • FBISE SSC (Matric): Classes 9 and 10

SSC-I (Class 9) and SSC-II (Class 10) are examined by the Federal Board. Science students take Physics and Chemistry with Biology or Computer Science, alongside English, Urdu, Mathematics, Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies. Pakistani schools in Doha prepare students for these papers, and FBISE announced the 2026 SSC results on 29 July 2026.

  • FBISE HSSC (FSc / ICS): Classes 11 and 12

HSSC-I and HSSC-II are taken in Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS and other groups. FSc marks feed into university and medical college admissions in Pakistan alongside entry tests such as MDCAT, so board marks matter for students who plan to return.

When are Matric exams for students in Qatar?

Full calendar by board on our exam dates page.
SessionWhat applies in Qatar
SSC annual examsHeld once a year in spring, with results in the summer. FBISE announced SSC-I and SSC-II results for 2026 on 29 July 2026. Overseas date sheets are published separately on the FBISE website.
HSSC annual examsHeld once a year, with results later in the summer. FBISE announced HSSC-I and HSSC-II results for 2026 on 9 September 2026.

Where do students in Qatar sit Matric exams?

Pakistani-curriculum students in Qatar take FBISE exams through their school. Pakistan International School Qatar (PISQ) in Doha, for example, reported that 249 of its students sat SSC-II in 2026, all of whom passed.

FBISE publishes date sheets, roll number slips and notices for its overseas examination centres on its website. In 2026 it published a separate SSC date sheet for overseas centres in the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain, so always check the notice that applies to your school.

Students who return to Pakistan with FBISE certificates do not need IBCC equivalence, because FBISE is a Pakistani board. Students switching from O Level or IGCSE to FSc do need IBCC equivalence.

Why do Pakistani families in Qatar choose a Pakistani online tutor?

FBISE papers follow a specific pattern of MCQs, short questions and long questions, marked against the board's own scheme, and the textbooks differ from British-curriculum books. Tutors who teach FBISE every year in Pakistan know the paper pattern, the common mistakes and the way examiners award marks.

Families also tell us they value teachers who can explain a hard concept in Urdu, who understand the move between Pakistani and Gulf schools, and whose timings work across the two-hour gap. Online lessons give students in Qatar access to the same specialist teachers as students in Islamabad or Lahore.

Can you help with FSc and MDCAT together from Qatar?

Yes. Much of the MDCAT syllabus overlaps with FSc Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so strong board preparation supports both. Students in Qatar who plan to study medicine in Pakistan can keep HSSC marks high in Class 11 and Class 12 and then add MCQ practice and timed mocks before the test.

Which Matric subjects do we teach students in Qatar?

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Computer Science
  • English

About Matric tutoring and boards

What times are online Matric classes in Qatar?

Pakistani schools in Doha, such as PISQ and Pak Shamaa School, run FBISE classes alongside Cambridge wings, and students sometimes move between the two. We teach both, so a tutor can help a student switching from O Level to FSc, or the other way, adjust to the new paper style.

Classes run in Arabia Standard Time, usually between about 3pm and 9pm on school days, and from morning to early evening on Fridays and Saturdays. Our tutors are in Pakistan, two hours ahead, so a 6pm class in Doha is 8pm for the tutor.

We teach online only and never send tutors to homes in Qatar. Parents can join any lesson and receive regular progress updates.
